What is Microblading in Rochester?

Microblading is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that temporarily grants you full, natural-looking eyebrows. It is a type of permanent makeup tattooing that will maintain perfect brows for 1-2 years. Microblading involves a handheld tool that enhances the pigment beneath the skin’s surface. A trained technician works with you to create the ideal shape for your face and then carefully creates precise, natural-looking strokes that emulate eyebrow hairs.

How does microblading work?

Microblading is a specific micro-pigmentation technique that uses a very fine hand tool to implant color into the skin. The process creates long-lasting, permanent hair strokes that give the illusion of natural, groomed eyebrows. This technique allows for fine, realistic strokes unlike a traditional tattoo gun. That’s why during the process, you’ll hear a scraping sound rather than a buzz.

Many people don’t realize that microblading is an advanced technique and should be done only by someone who is licensed in permanent makeup to ensure the safest and most beautiful results. When you get those results, you’ll have a more uplifted, youthful appearance. Our clients tell us that they are so happy with the final results they wish they would have had the service done much earlier.

One of the best benefits of microblading is that, once healed, your new eyebrow look is natural and very low maintenance.

The perks of beautiful brows

A well-crafted brow can help your entire face look more put together. It’s a feature some spend hours of our lifetime trying to perfect. Our eyebrows help frame our faces, and if done properly, a great eyebrow can even help us look younger. It can be disappointing, then, if your eyebrows hurt your look rather than enhance it.

If you find yourself with sparse eyebrows, need help with an arch, or simply want fuller brows, microblading in Rochester is the perfect solution for you. Simply put, microblading is a form of permanent makeup that creates natural hair strokes among already existing, or even non-existent eyebrow hair. This helps many of our clients fill in gaps to provide a fuller, more polished brow design.

Microblading versus tattooing

Many people believe that microblading is synonymous with tattooing. While the two practices have similar techniques, the results are completely different.

Different tools- Microblading is a tattoo technique that uses tiny, fine-point needles instead of a regular tattoo gun. This allows for the strokes to be finer and more precise, giving you natural looking brows. The tool itself is almost like a very small rat tail comb that scratches and deposits the pigment into the skin.

Different pigment- Traditional tattoos are meant to be permanent, so they penetrate deeper into the skin. Microblading pigment is meant to appear more natural, with colors that will best fit your skin tone and eye color.

Different effects- If you were to get your eyebrows tattooed on, it would be a lot more noticeable than if you would’ve done microblading. A tattoo gun isn’t capable of making fine strokes that match how your eyebrows would grow. In addition, the effects of microblading in Rochester will last around 12 to 24 months. A tattoo would last a lifetime.

We always give the best customer service of any Rochester med spa by putting your needs first We shape your brows so that they’ll best fit your face. Our goal is to help enhance your natural features, not distract away from them!

Before the procedure

Before you come into Envision Aesthetics for microblading in Rochester, there are a few things we want our clients to take into consideration. You’ll want to avoid tanning or direct sunlight two weeks before. Don’t take any blood thinners a week before because they could cause excess bleeding during the procedure. When it comes to eyebrow maintenance, we ask our patients to not tweeze, pluck or wax for a week.

On the day of your microblading appointment, do not drink any alcohol. Coffee must be consumed at least two hours before the appointment, and stay away from any kind of aspirin.

During the procedure

First, we will create the perfect shape for your brows using a very detailed brow mapping process that utilizes the natural bone structure of the face. Our professionals will take into account your hair color, skin tone, and eye color to get the perfect shade for you.

We will then apply a topical numbing aesthetic on the area to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the process. Once the aesthetic has set in, we will begin microblading your brows.

Your licensed professional will create crisp, fine hair strokes to fill in your brows as discussed and drawn before the procedure. The needles will delicately scrape, not penetrate, your brow’s surface. After the tiny incisions are made, we go back through to add the pigment. If needed, color can be added as a way to create depth and dimension in especially sparse areas.

Depending on how much microblading you need, the procedure can take anywhere between 1 to 2 hours.

After the procedure

Proper aftercare is crucial to avoid infection. After your microblading appointment in Rochester, you may have some itching, but do not scratch the area. Over the next 7 to 10 days, your brows will darken and start to scab and flake. Do not worry; this is normal, and the color will return to its original shade within a month. Wash your eyebrows with a gentle cleanser every day, but make sure it doesn’t contain acids or exfoliants.

Other quick tips to keep in mind:

-Don’t go swimming for 10 days

-Keep your pillowcase clean

-Don’t exercise for one week

-Don’t wear makeup on your brows until they’ve healed

-Avoid botox, facials, or peels for at least four weeks

-Avoid direct sunlight for one week.
